What is Volumetric Concrete?
Volumetric Concrete (or Mix On Site Concrete) is concrete which is mixed by volume of material, rather than weight. Volumetric Concrete is typically mixed on-site in volumetric concrete mixers, which are self-contained portable batch plants. These specialist trucks contain all the requisite concrete ingredient materials (sand, aggregate, cement, admixture and water).
Mobile volumetric mixers provide the flexibility to produce concrete on-site in any quantity without waste. They also produce concrete at any specified slump or water-cement ratio. Mixes and grades can be switched between jobs, or even during a job if required, by simply adjusting the machine ’s proportioning controls.
The trucks are driven to the site where the mix can be produced to a given specification and delivered in precise quantities
